Nowhere is Sturgeon’s Law more accurate then on the internet. There is an amazing variety of content out there, and almost all of it is, as the good author put it, “crud.” But fear not, fellow seekers of awesome, for I have here, some of the best the internet has to offer!
Webcomics
Our first subject of note is the wide world of webcomics. If you’re like me, then you enjoy webcomics as a medium to deliver “the funny” on a semi-daily basis. Here are a few that I prefer
- Theater Hopper – The longest running movie themed webcomic on the internet. I enjoy the author’s artistic style and his sense of humor. This is one of the few comics that has earned a place in he links widget.
- Shortpacked - The story of the lives of toy store workers. This one is often funny, sometimes wacky, an always delivers a great pop culture reference, well, except for the times that it’s being serious, which, thankfully isn’t too often.
- Girl Genius – is the ongoing story of Agatha Heterodyne, a mad scientist in a world of gaslamp fantasy.
- Darths and Droids - What if Star Wars was a role playing game, and what if that setup actually made everything about the movies make perfect sense? I’m linking to the first comic in their archive, trust me, it’s worth it.
Youtube
- Opinionated Star Trek Reviews – This person is one of my favorite reviewers on youtube. Always funny and dead on with his reviews, he gives a fair treatment to the shows and movies.
- Will Work 4 Food Productions - This happens to be the repository of the videos created by my good friend Jayson.
